From Guy,

I still think about Peter with great fondness and sadness as he and

I had good times together either playing squash or fishing or just

chatting together over lunch or coffee.

We even had the odd 'Dop' together .

Regards

GUY

From Lesley,

Whilst in the throws of compiling a little piece for Dad, I had to

attend a company function this evening that turned out to be really

quite amazing. We listened to a motivational speaker (the chap

who ran the China Wall in late 2006 as a mission to raise funds for

kids with cleft lips/deformities). He spoke about his journey with a

friend; what made them do it and what kept them motivated

through some very tough times. They did it! And are about to

embark on another in July: running the coastline of SA in 3

months.

I happen to know his partner and they are wonderful, motivated,

yet down-to-earth guys who are just out there to make some small

contribution in a big way. Anyway, at the end of his talk, he came

to his last slide as the finale to this epic journey of being the first

two guys to successfully run the entire length of the China Wall, by

displaying a slide that said:

"Together with great power, comes great responsibilty – Peter

Parker/ Spiderman" .

I practically fell off my chair, but took great pride in this. It was

awesome and, for me very relevant. It was these words that

motivated two ordinary men to achieve an extraordinary journey.

I thought of you Dad, fighting for everything you held dear and

never losing sight of what you believed in.

I love you for that. I love that, whilst you personally may not have

uttered these Superhero words, they are still most appropriate.

Happy Fathers Day, Spiderman!

From Pat:

Hi there Peter,

Another Birthday approaches...crikey we are getting old!

Thinking of you fondly and wish you were here to be acknowledged

and teased.

Your photos adorn many of Mum's walls but even without them,

memories of you are as strong as ever.

You would have choked with shock at the pathetic size and

horrendous price of crawlies that we witnessed on sale at Snoekies

in Hout Bay harbour last week - we certainly had the best times!

With lots of love as ever

Hi Petee,

You would remember when you were approximately 26, I stood

behind you and said …Petee you have a bald patch on your head. (it

was quite minute of course)

Well, Ficity told me that when you got home you went straight to the

mirror to see this patch, and so for many years thereafter, you kept a

check on the size! We did have a good laugh.

We were both born in January, a year apart, you being the younger of

course.

You were a real hunk with a sense of humour, and did not have to

worry about the little patch!!

I would like to add a photo of Ryan your great nephew who is 5.5

weeks old and so precious.

My love to you always Jean.

FATHERS DAY - 2008

We kinda got together and figured this would tell you how much

we love you

No day will ever end without you

Our love Lesley and Michelle, Stuart and Brittany xxxx

This man stood tall against the challenge brought by the winds of life, he was a man who knew and loved life's

enthusiasms, its great devotions and enthusiastically spent himself in their cause.
